Being in the health and fitness industry for many years has introduced me to all sorts of training methodologies, diets, equipment, etc. I’ve seen the fads come and go. Ha! One thing I’ve always done is used my body as my own laboratory. Facts tell stories sell. I can use my own data to track and recommend whatever based upon facts collected during trials and tests. When it comes to “supplementing” there are many methods. People are always looking for that magic pill to put on weight, lose weight, get stronger, run longer, etc. Being in the powerlifting and CrossFit industry for years submerged me amongst many tricks of the trade. Back in 2008 I spent some time shooting testosterone. To be exact, Androne Enanthate. I got the stuff straight from Iran and it was incredible. My body weight was 165 when I started and 10 weeks later I was 193. It was all muscle. I did that for a few cycles. The problem with that is once you get off you tend to lose most if not all of it. I am genetically pre-disposed to not being a large man. Shooting test took it’s toll on me. Years later I truly needed something to help me function at a higher level due to the work I was performing. At the time, Ostarine (also known as MK-2866) had come on the scene. There are many peptides out there to help do pretty much whatever you want. This particular SARM was what I was looking for at the time. You can find Ostarine many different places. Be warned!! If you’re an athlete you can get in trouble using this stuff. Why? Because it works pretty well. Use this stuff at your own risk!! These chemicals are to be used “for research only”. I’m simply sharing my experience. This was during the time when I owned my CrossFit gym. I was doing Westside Barbell powerlifting programming and CrossFit workouts during this time.
“Ostarine or MK-2866 (CAS# 1235370-13-4) is a research chemical developed originally by Merck Inc. and now owned by GTx Inc. It is undergoing trials for Phase II (human) research. MK-2688 belongs to a class of chemicals known as SARMs or selective androgen receptor modulators. SARMs create selective anabolic activity at certain androgen receptors and not others, hence their name. Compared to testosterone, the sex hormone, the advantage of SARMs such as MK-2688 is that they do not have androgenic activity in non-skeletal-muscle tissues. MK-2866 is undergoing clinical trials for and may eventually be medically indicated and approved for prevention of cachexia, atrophy, and sarcopenia primarily in the elderly and sick population.
Testosterone and other androgenic anabolic steroids (AAS) are very effective at preventing muscle-wasting as well as increasing appetite and physical strength in humans and animal test subjects. However, AAS have a specific set of side-effects related to their non-specific androgen receptor activity that makes them contraindicated in many cases where they would otherwise be useful. Additionally, testosterone is subject to enzymatic conversion to a number of other bioactive hormones such as estrogen via the aromatase enzyme and DHT via the 5-alpha-reductase enzyme. While additional drugs may be prescribed to lower aromatase and 5-AR, or to minimize the side effects of AAS in some other fashion, testosterone is primarily only indicated for male hormone replacement therapy due to the fact that it is a problematic and complicated compound to use for its androgenic properties and the side-effects can vary greatly from individual to individual. Even primarily-anabolic AAS such as oxandrolone (Anavar), which are often used in terminally ill patients, do not entirely circumvent androgenic and other problematic side-effects.”
My 35 day log:
Day 1 Monday
Received on Monday 13Jul15. Used oral syringe to measure out dosage from pump bottle. Dosed with 1ml in the evening.
Day 2 Tuesday
Dosed in the morning. I’m expecting placebo effect until something visual happens. Worked out at noon with class. Not feeling anything.
Day 3 15Jul15 Wednesday
Dosed in morning. Used 5 pumps. Gonna stick with 6 pumps from bottle and occasionally use syringe for more accurate dosage. Slight headache this morning. Could be something I ate or drank last night. Feel pretty good other than that. Not too sore from last 2 days of workouts. Shoulder feels good.
Felt great last night and had lots of energy. Not sure if it’s placebo or not. I did the workout twice.
Day 4 Thursday
Not placebo. Definitely doing something. I murdered my strength workout today. Felt great. Worked out again tonight with the class. Feeling good. Always hungry. Upped protein shake intake to 3 today.
Day 5 Friday
Putting on weight. I look to be cutting fat a bit too. Sore from working out a bit. I need to clean up my diet and eat more. I feel pretty good. Libido is good. Hard on is pretty intense. Sex was good and I lasted longer than normal. Stayed rock hard the entire time. Getting stronger for sure. I’m able to move more weight. Weighing about 167 now.
Day 8 Tuesday
Not much has changed. Still feeling strong and am able to move more weight. I’ve been eating as much as possible; not really caring what it is. Just fueling. Week 4 I’ll dial in my nutrition to start cutting fat. I plan to add Anovar at week 4.
Not much has changed. I think I’ve peaked. Still feeling great and have lots of energy.
Yeah, I’ve plateau’d out on this stuff. It was fun and I made some gains. If I did it again I’d do it for 4 weeks as a kick starter.
Today is my last day. No change for a couple weeks. Slow and steady gains at this point. I cut up pretty good once I dialed my nutrition in. I’ve made gains on the 3 big lifts but not a noticeable amount. My joints feel fine, recovery is still good. Put on a good deal of mass. BW 178
There you have it. Short and sweet! Don’t ask me where to get the stuff. Just do your own research. I don’t condone anything but an all-natural diet. Anything else you choose to do is on you!
